CFL light bulbs are a great invention. They save money and they protect the environment. CFL stands for Compact Fluorescent Lamp. Why should you consider them?

For one thing, they last roughly10 times longer than traditional bulbs. This means you’ll be buying and replacing CFL’s far, far less often.

Second, they’re efficient. CFL’s take less power than standard bulbs, yet provide the same amount of light. The latest CFL’s give a warm, inviting light, and CFL’s can be used almost anywhere, including table lamps, track lighting, ceiling fixtures, and outdoor lights. There are even CFL’s for lamps with three-way switches and lights using a dimmer switch. Be aware though, that CFL’s contain mercury, so don’t throw them away. Take them to a recycling center or your local hardware store.
